We here at Sankashti.com present below details of Ganesh Navratri.

Ganesh Navratri :

Ganesh Navratri is a nine day festival celebrated in honor of Lord Ganehsa. The festival starts on the Shuukla Paksha Chaturthi of Hindu calendar month Bhaadrapada (i.e., the Ganesh Chaturthi day) and ends on Shuukla Paksha Dwadashi of Bhaadrapada (i.e., two days prior to Anant Chaturdashi).

According to Ganesha Purana, Mudgala Purana and Matsya Purana, nine forms of Lord Ganesha are to be worshiped during the nine days of Ganesh Navratri.

The main reason behind worshiping nine forms of Ganesha during Ganesha Chaturthi Puja is to keep away nine types of evil characters within us.
